Along with just about everybody who has ever seen one, I had wanted one of these since their introduction. I selected this example in 1976 from Prestige Thunderbird, a relatively new business that sold ’55-’57 T-Birds and would perform as little or as much restoration as one’s budget would allow. This car was originally black, but by 1976 had been repainted in white and was in complete, but pretty sad shape. It was a pleasure for me to be able to have it restored to its original condition.
