1962 Plymouth Sport Fury

One of 1516 built / 361 c.i. 305 h.p.

Chrysler Corporation made a big mistake in “downsizing” their big Plymouth and Dodge cars 15 years before GM made it fashionable with the 1977 Chevrolet Caprice, et. al. To add to the problem, a number of people found the cars just a bit odd looking. When it came to this model, I wasn’t one of them and along with my father, went to the Plymouth dealer in New Haven to see one just like this on display in early 1962, when the Sport Fury was re-introduced. Most have not survived, and it took years to find one to restore, but finally we found this California “black plate” example in sad but honest condition.
